About Tax Receipting

Due to the Postal Strike this past December, the Canadian Government is allowing charitable gifts made in the first two months of 2025 to be receipted as 2024 gifts for tax filing purposes.

The standard policy of GCF will be to receipt all gifts received in the first two months of 2025 as 2025 giving; these gifts will appear on your 2025 tax receipt, not on your 2024 tax receipt.

If you would like any of your January or February 2025 donations to be added to your 2024 charitable giving receipt as an exception to this policy, you will need to make a special request to Brenda, our Donations Administrator, by contacting donations@gcfchurch.ca before January 31, 2025.

GCF is a Registered Charity. We issue tax receipts each February for annual donations totaling $25 or more. Receipts are sent by email undless a hard copy is specifically requested or an email address is unavailable.

In order to issue a tax receipt in compliance with Canadian regulations, we must have a home address on file, so please provide a complete mailing address if you wish to be receipted.

If you have any questions about a donation you have made or about tax receipting, please contact Brenda, our donations coordinator, at donations@gcfchurch.ca.

About Designated Gifts

Spending of funds is restricted to programs and projects approved by the Staff and/or Board of GCF. Each contribution directed toward a specific fund (e.g. Missions or Building) will be used for related programs or projects, with the understanding that when the need for such programs or projects has been met - or cannot be completed for any reason determined by GCF - the remaining designated contributions will be redirected to a similar program or project. Where a similar program or project has not been approved, funds remaining will be allocated to the General fund and used where most needed.
